Frame & Fortune

Frame and Fortune.jpg

I have an obsession with cute & funky frames.  Whether eyeglasses or sunglasses I love to purchase frames that make a statement.  I’m often asked where I purchase my frames from and who they are by.  Today I’m going to showcase my favorites.

When it comes to sunglasses, I try my best not to break the bank.  Don’t get me wrong I’ve purchased shades from designers like Burberry and Gucci but… I never have good luck with them because I’ve either broken them or lost them.  Its a heartbreaking feeling to spend an excessive amount on something and lose or damage it.  For some strange reason, none of my $10 shades have been lost or broken so…  I think I’ll stick with inexpensive shades.

Circa 2011… I bought these Gucci Shades from the Neiman Marcus outlet… They broke when I dropped them on my sofa… No more designer shades for me!

For my sunglasses, I really just purchase them from anywhere that has a good deal.  I’ve gotten shades from the thrift store (The Buffalo Exchange is my favorite).  I’ve also gotten sunglasses from some pretty weird places… my favorite pair of aviators actually came from a liquor store and they were free!

My favorite stores to snag shades from are:

Here are a few of my favorite inexpensive shades:

The Buffalo Exchange (Wash, DC Location) $10
Sunglass Spot $5

Sunglass Spot $5

ZeroUV $10

Akira $15
The Buffalo Exchange $10

Eyeglasses are a little different for me, while I do shop on websites like Zenni (blog post here) or Warby Parker to get discounted frames, I also like to take full advantage of my vision insurance to get eyewear I normally wouldn’t buy for myself.

Here are a few of my favorites

Brand/Store: See Eyewear $339 – Washington, DC Location  (Purchased through vision insurance)
Brand: Chanel $400 – Store: My Eye Dr. Arlington, VA location                                              (Purchased through vision insurance)

Zenni $11

If you all have any suggestions on trendy and inexpensive eyewear stores, I’d love to hear about them!  I’m always looking for a cool new place to shop.

Until next time…

Fab Fit Fun Fall Box 2016

Subscribing to Fab Fit Fun has been on my “to do” list for a few years.  But, I could never wrap my head around the $49.99 price.  Even though I had always heard about the amazing products that came in their boxes, the price was just a bit too steep for me.  I was really excited when I received an offer from them that I couldn’t refuse.

Fab Fit Fun (created by Giuliana Rancic) is a quarterly subscription that provides its subscribers with the latest and greatest products. It can be compared to the “swag bags” celebrities receive at A-list events and award shows.  Each box is delivered at the start of a new season and has products that product junkies and fashionistas may need to “survive” the season.  As stated before, the cost of the box is $49.99 every three months which comes to about almost $200 per year if you are billed quarterly and $180 if you choose to be billed annually.

I received my first Fab Fit Fun Box in the Summer, but  I wasn’t really too impressed with it. I mean I got a yoga towel (currently using during my 30 day yoga challenge), a Trina Turk tote, a few beauty products, and a Popsicle mold but nothing really WOWED me.

Fab Fit Fun Summer 2016 Box

Last weekend I was ecstatic when I got an alert that the Fab Fit Fun Fall Box had been delivered.  I’ve been extremely busy lately so I didn’t have time to check my usual blogs and YouTube channels to get a sneak peek at what would be in the box, so everything was going to be a surprise for me.

Fab Fit Fun Fall Box Delivered!!!

The box was so full that I didn’t even realize there were three items at the bottom of my box.  I noticed that I didn’t seem to have as much as other people that received the same box as me, so I decided I would reach out to Fab Fit Fun to let them know.  I’m so glad I checked my box a second time!!!  After moving everything out of my box so that I could do a quick Instagram haul I realized I had a few extra goodies in the box!

The Goods!!!  Minus 3 Items *face palm*

So…  Here’s what I got:

ModCloth Blanket Scarf $35 – If you follow me on Instagram you know I’m already obsessed with it!!!

Keeping my legs warm while my toes dry…

Toesox  $12 – Supposed to be used for working out but… I’ll be using them to keep my feet warm while my toes dry

Pure Cosmetics Nude Collection Palette $50 – I don’t wear eyeshadow too often but I am still excited about it

Spongelle Body Wash Infused Buffer $16 – I’m not sure I’ll be using this one since I’m very picky about what products I wash my body with

Mullein & Sparrow French Lavender Body Oil $18 – I recently posted on Instagram how much I love using lavender infused products after a good workout and right before going to bed, so I’m really excited to try this

Skin Laundry Restoring Night Serum $50 – Designed to improve skin elasticity, tone, texture and brightness.  I’m going to add it to my nightly routine and update you all in about three weeks

Good Morning Gorgeous Coffee Tumbler $19 –  I’ve already started using this for smoothies, cold pressed juice and of course tea!!!

My new favorite!

The Brow Gal Brow Gel $20 – I’m loyal to my Chella brow gel but we’ll see if this can grab my attention for awhile

Fab Fit Fun Coloring Book + Pencils – Value $16 – I’ve been wanting to join the adult coloring book craze so I’m excited to try this out

Cottonelle Fresh Wipes Complimentary – Wipes are actually a staple in my purse so these are perfect… even if they aren’t organic *shade*

Secret Outlast Xtend Clear Gel Completely Clean Deodorant Complimentary – I don’t use regular deodorant just because of the health dangers, but if i’m in a pinch and have run out of my usual product I may give this a try

One really cool feature with this box is that you can color it using your colored pencils!  I’m saving that project for one of my reset days where I  have nothing to do and plan to stay home all day

So, that’s everything that was in my Fall box.  I cannot belive theyThe total value of this box is $241, I always want to ask companies like Fab Fit Fun and Boxycharm how they do it!  So far Fab Fit Fun is my favorite subscription because it mixes a little of everything I love fashion, art, and fitness… the only thing missing is snacks!

I want you guys to try Fab Fit Fun and tell me what you think, so I’ve listed a referral link here that will give you $10 off your first box.  As of September 30th the Fall Fab Fit Fun box is SOLD OUT !!!  So, if you subscribe now you will receive a Welcome Box.  The Welcome Box contains hot items from past Fab Fit Fun boxes.

I can’t wait to hear what you guys think!
