This past weekend I attended the 2017 Ubiquitous Hair, Health and Beauty Expo in Washington, DC. The expo comes to DC every year and celebrates African American owned beauty companies as well as promote healthy lifestyle habits.
There are health and wellness panels, celebrity appearances, fashion shows, musical performances, health screenings, food, and a ton of vendors selling beauty products.
I honestly only go to this even so that I can buy all of my hair products for the year because the vendors always have the best deals. I mean better deals than when you go CVS and they have a buy one get one free sale!

I got a ton of products this year. The Ubiquitous Expo is definitely a product junkie play ground!
Here’s what I got:
Isoplus
I didn’t even know Isoplus was still around! I grew up on their wrap lotion and oil sheen. I was too excited when I spotted their booth. I couldn’t pass up on their deal of 4 products for $15.
I purchased products from their Coconut & Shea line and got: 2 bottles of the Deep Cleanse Shampoo, Leave-In Conditioner and the Deep Conditioner Repair
Mielle Organics
I’ve been wanting to try Mielle organics for the longest time. So I was definitely excited to see that they were one of the sponsors for the expo. Their staff was so super friendly. Their booth was running a special for 3 products for $27.
I got the Honey & Ginger Styling Gel, the Brazilian Curly Cocktail Curl Cream and the Babassu Brazilian Curly Cocktail Curl Mousse.
Luster’s
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again… Luster’s has come a long way since the days of Pink Oil Moisturizer and Goody brand barrettes! I swear by their Leave-In Conditioner. Luster’s booth was selling their products 3 for $10.
I got quite a bit from Luster’s: Botanical Curl Lock Moisturizer, Botanical Curl Perfect Foaming Mousse, Botanical Curl Shaper Custard, Shea Coconut Co-Wash, and of course two bottles of the Shea Coconut Leave-In Conditioner.
G Natural
I had never heard of this brand before but when I saw their sign that said 6 products for $25 I knew I had to stop by for a second. It’s only been a few days but I’ve already fallen in love with their Honey Glaze Hair Pudding. I used it on my bantu knots and they came out soooo good!
I got the Mint Fortress Conditioner, All Day Leave-In Conditioner, Oh So Clean Shampoo, Carribean Coconut Milk Leave-In Conditioning Spray, Knot Forever Detangling Creme and of course the Honey Glaze Hair Pudding.
Cantu
I’ve never really been a fan of Cantu products. I purchased a ton of their stuff back in 2015 when I grew my hair out and they didn’t really work for my texture. However, I recently started using their Leave-In Conditioner foam and I love it! I’ve also heard a lot of good things about their Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse.
I only got a few samples from Cantu and I won the Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse by playing the Spin the Wheel game at their booth.
Honey Baby Naturals
My friend Krystle always raves about Honey Baby Naturals and has been telling me to try it for a while now. All of the products at their booth were on sale for $10.
I got the Knot My Honey Instant Detangler for my hair and the Honey Nectar Body Jelly. Both smell absolutely amazing!
Random Goodies
I also purchased the No Ash At All lotion from Oyin Hand Made ($5), the Restorative Deep Conditioner from Sasha Pure ($15) and the Coconut Oil Deep Conditioning Masque from Bella Curls ($5).
I’m pretty sure that I won’t be needing to buy any kind of hair products any time soon! I’m so excited to try all of the products out and let you guys know what I think. I’m also already planning my budget for next years expo!
Until next time…
